Round 'n' round in circles.........
OK, most of you will know that over the last few months I have spent an awful lot of time and an awful lot of money trying to find the perfect seating arrangement to suit my lardy arse and the GSA.

Well, since buying the Corbin seat and the Nippy Norman handlebar risers/setbacks, I believe that I have indeed found it at last.

Yes….. it was a shit load of money to spend on a seat, in fact £531.03 shit load of money!

Yes…… the quality on the underside and the wiring is not as good as I would have hoped for, but the main thing is that it is bloody comfy and its not even broken in it!

Now the down side, I originally asked for the front nose section to be made narrower to make touching the floor with both feet easier, this is a no cost option.

The seat duly arrived within the time scale that they said it would, but I was rather a little disappointed that the front nose section didn’t seem any narrower to me?

In my ‘thank you’ e-mail to Karen Drinkwater at Battistinis stating that on the whole I was very happy with the seat and more than happy with the extremely high level of service afforded to me, I did mention that it was a pity that the seat had not made narrower.

Next thing I know is that I am in a conference call with Corbin direct, they have taken my inside leg measurement and overall height and have promised to make another seat to my specification and get it shipped out to me all by next Monday!!

Now one can only speak as one finds and I have read various threads on the Adv Rider web site about the poor customer service of Corbin, but I have found them to be 100% focused to serving the customer and getting it right. Ok, the new seat hasn’t got here yet, but I have no reason to doubt that it will, but if not, it will be here when I get back after the Tossers trip.

Now to be fair, my present Corbin seat does not really present me with any real problem in touching the floor with both feet, it’s just that I think it could be better, and as I did originally ask for it to be narrower I thought that it was certainly worth a mention.

As for Battistinis and especially to Karen, a huge thank you. In this day and age it is very rare to find someone who is so very, very customer focused. Taking into account that I did not complain about it, nor did I make a fuss about it, I merely mentioned that it was a shame that it had not made narrower. I did not intend to make any sort of issue out of it nor did I intend to take it any further than that. She has spent a lot of effort sorting this out and arranging for a new seat to be sent in time for my trip.

BUT, here the interesting bit, when the new seat arrives, mine will then be redundant so to speak. Now I might be speaking out of turn here…but I think that someone might get a dam good deal on my ‘old’ seat from Battistinis?

The full spec of the seat is as follows: -
Classic black leather with black welt.
Carbon fibre embossed vinyl sides.
Fully heated with low and high setting.
It’s the same height as the BMW OE low seat, as in 33 ½”.

It has only done around 240 miles and is one week old today (23rd May) and has not been out in the wet.

So if you are seriously thinking abut getting a Corbin seat for your GSA, then this could be your chance to save yourself some money. So it just might be worth ringing Karen on 01202 418335 and asking about it, who knows?

And before anyone asks, no I have not arranged this with Battistinis in fact they don’t know anything about it, it’s just a thought that’s all. At the end of the day they might just say bollocks and not offer any discount…who knows?

In my world………..those that don’t ask, normally don’t get!

Personally, I would recommend a Corbin seat to anyone, ok it’s a hell of a lot of money to spend, but I have no regrets now, even with my current seat.
