I had to ride home on sunday, heavy rain and winds.
I actually enjoyed the ride but once home it was on with the kettle and off with the waterproofs ( yeah right
).
When i went out to unload the bike the alarm would not de-activate
ah
tried everything you could when all you are thinking is f#ck f#ck fck,
a walk to
s, boots and argos in the rain for a battery i had never even seen before ( sg12 ) was a hail mary attempt at best
walk back home in rain having lost 2 hours of daylight and it was still raining
patheticaly re-try everything and still thinking f#ck f#ck f#ck
ah
there followed about ten minutes of continous spyball screeching as i took the bike apart and tried to find the fecker
cut wires and silence.............
unfortunatley the alarm was put in very professionaly and the connections were all soldered and heat shrunk in black but i stuck with it, followed all the immobiliser/hot wire circuits, cut and re-join and taped it all back up nicley as the alarm unit lay in a puddle
good riddance
re-connect everything, bodywork back on, ignition on and no fuel pump whirr
ah
at this point i came back in, i was well wet, cold and a little pissed off, time for a cuppa
Back out ten minutes later i decide to check all the connections and the first one i did was the tank multi-pin, .....a corroded wire just fell out when prodded
ah
broken wired bridged, ignition on, fuel pump whirr, away we go
don't want many sundays like that
