I have the Y Piece and Remus race can, like a lot of people.

However it doesnt backfire, no matter how hard i try.

Why ?

I also have the bbpower chip. (and techlusion !)

I notice that on the bbpower web site they claim that their power chip will result in no more backfire with closed throttle.

Does anyone else have the power chip and no backfire ?

Dave

I have a Superchip fitted, and my bike used to backfire VERY LOUDLY (!) with the Sebring Y piece and road can it also had. Oddly though, it doesn't backfire at all since I fitted a Remus Genesis race can a few weeks ago. All I get now is a gentle burble on the overrun.

chips

is that the bbpower chip ?

when you changed to the remus did you change the code plug settings ?

was the sebring a race can ?

Dave,

Superchip is another chip supplier and I got it from my dealer who had got one s/h (cost me £70). More than this, I don't know, but it goes very well indeed.

As it was fitted by the dealer, I checked the fusebox and found that the code plug had been removed. The section it should fit into is empty.

The Sebring was a road can, as I said before. The Remus is a race can and doesn't backfire at all. This may just be because of a better seal at the joint with the Y piece I suppose.

backfire

hi i have the bbchip.y piece and remus road can and mine backfires no probs.

No back fire

I have tracked the backfire down to the Lamda sensor.

simple test last night :

Reconnect lamda sensor, 5 mins ride, shut off throttle......bang !

Disconnect sensor 5 mins ride, shut off throttle...... small pop no bang.

I have aquired the pdf from BBpower on the code plug settings for their chip if anyone is interested.

I have the bbpower chip and it stopped the backfires when I had my Two Bros full exhaust (as long as you close the throttle completely on decel). I would get some backfiring while the bike was still cold.
Use a Sebring Y pipe and stock can now, and no backfiring.
