Having my airhead wheels rebuilt so might as well have the hubs tidied up anyone know of any good beadblaster in West Yerkshire area Bradford Keighley

What about "Triple S". They are somewhere near you i think !!!

be carefull which variety of blasting medium is used...

as far as i am aware the original finish to the hubs was done by blasting with stainless steel balls rather than a grit.. this "peened" the surface of the alloy creating a work-hardened surface on the alloy

bead/grit blasting will produce a dull highly absorbant surface to the alloy of the hub that will just discolour and look shoite in no time

if you find someone that does it... let me know:thumb

i want mine doing on the g/s

Hi
I do shot blasting and bead blasting as a business (you can see my work in the British Motorcycle Museum) what you need for alloy hubs is glass bead.

could you post up a few photo's of your work? there are rather a lot of motorcycles in the museum and we wouldn't be too sure which one's are yours:thumb

As promised some photos of paintwork for the vintage bikes at the museum, all parts are shotblasted first before filling and painting, unfortunately I have never bothered to take pictures of the completed machines (I only paint the parts) but I will endever to get some. Ps hope you can spot the before and after!!
