Finally made it to Beaulieu Vintage Tyres recently and had my newly restored R25/3 wheels shod with period correct tyres. What a great outfit, couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. Dropped the wheels off in the morning and whilst waiting went off to the Sammy Miller Museum which had grown since my last visit. What a great time I had there, such an array of stunning and interesting classic bikes. Not just the usual mix of British standards, lots and lots of really interesting and crazy period engineering ideas built into very rare machines. Loads of fascinating race machinery and a great little cafe. Can't recommend either highly enough if you need tyres for your classic bike (or car) and so close to the museum too. Can't think why there is an aeroplane on the front lawn though!

I was there earlier in the year for the HDRCGB meet and he was tearing around the carpark, no helmet or kit on some old lash up….

When my wife and I visited he and his mechanics were fine tuning a supercharged BMW with a large fairing in the area in front of the museum, then Sammy would rip around the car park, really hammering it.

I was so surprised at the quality and diversity of the museum. Bikes I had never heard of, prototypes, rare models. And you can get really close to them to really examine the details. The old school workshop with period tools was a lovely touch. Absolutely fantastic place to visit.
