If you want somewhere near to Santiago de Compostela that is bit special then try Casa Grande do Bachao. It is at the end of a road leading into a forest and is very secluded. Wewere welcomed by the owners dogs who are very friendly, particularly the black lab. It has an outdoor pool and sauna. The house dates from the early 17th century with later additionsand retains many of its original features. We are staying in what was the original master bedroom and there is a removable stone in the reveal which hides a hole about 1.5m through the wall which points to the front door so if the visitors are undesirable you can shoot them!
