Do any of the guys here go out on your bikes during the winter.

I keep mine safe and dry covered in that scot oils stuff and it cleans up a treat. It's Aye Ready for it's small summer trips to the Green Wellie and sometimes if the weather is really good Glencoe.

There are one or two hardy souls in the SS who ride through the winter (Boatman for one) and the nearly traditional New Year Run usually attracts a good few folk oot and aboot. We usually met at Blair Atholl but I realsie that it's a fair hike from Larkhall.

There's a Crimbo Do this Saturday at Bridge of Cally (details at the top of the Scotland Section threads) and you'd be made more than welcome. Cunnign Fox is riding up on his bike with Tracy on hers. Why not join them and meet a few of the eejits who frequent here? :jeiger

been commuting to bathgate since july only fell off twice both times due to ice once coming out of the petrol station car wash water froze then again on monday ice again slid for ages no worries though these gs's crash well

It pays to be careful on your bike in winter.....wouldn't want it damaged

I too ride all year round, cover it in waxoil or ACF50 and don't clean it for 6 months, it will come up like new, wear decent gear and I can see no reason not to ride My commute is 230 miles return, rain hail or snow, it needs to be really extreme weather to stop me (deep snow) as I don't do the driving thing, I have a licence but no car, don't see the need for one. Just ride the bloodly thing, it will make you a better rider too. If you drop it, put it down to experience, shit happens, pick it up learn from it and get back on. I thought GS riders were the adventurous type, but is that only if it's 70 C with a clear blue sky

didnt feel a thing at the time woke up yesterday sore as feck the thing that got me was someone came to there window when it happened then called on someone else and the two of them stood drinking tea watching as i struggled to lift the bike was mibys a bit cold for them to come out

I had the bike out yesterday through Glen Prosen ,Clova etc, roads are crap covered in mud and stones.Great fun only had the bike a few weeks and getting used to having a bike I can ride in these conditions.
If your heading to the Green Welly give me a shout and I would meet you some place. Really want to get miles in and used to the bike

aye they are heavy auld things i managed tae drop ma gsa in t car park o the wee chef at spean bridge recently n i wis stuggling to pick it up (fully loaded) a German lad gied me a help n it wis nae bother wi 2 . were you lifting from the bar end or the backwards onto the seat method?
