Is anybody in the market for a Moorespeed engine comes complete with a gearbox, clutch etc

It will need a bean can (or other ignition) and an alternato.

The spec is:-

Moorespeed long skirt pistons in replatted nikasil barrels (all done by Moorespeed so that the bores matched the pistons.

Heads have been ported and flowed with moorespeed one piece valves in Colisbro guides. These started life as 800cc heads and were machined by moorespeed - the 800 heads have more meat to allow the gas flowing to be cut correctly.

Cam is a 324° Moorespeed fast road cam.

Crank was balanced (along with the clutch). new mains and big ends fitted. The oil pump is one of Moorespeeds own. Starter motor is a Nippon Denso

theres a pair of Dellortos I bought new for the project

Gearbox was rebuilt and the clutch was all new

Did that Moorespeed engine that Ras Thurlo had built ever turn-up?

If not, it might be nice to give him a quick head's up ... dunno ... :nenau

It's been pointed out that my comment could be misunderstood as me suggesting Rob is less than trustworthy. This is absolutely not the case, and over the years I've never heard of anybody with a bad word to say about Rob, so I'm apologise unreservedly for any confusion that my comment may have caused.

My point was the Ras "lost" a Moorespeed engine in questionable circumstances, and he may still be interested in acquiring a Moorespeed tuned engine.

Cheers :beerjug:

Thanks John.

i didn't take your comments to mean I'd nicked his engine.

Moorespeed obviously know these engines and who has what. A quick email will verify that it's one of theirs and what spec it was built to.

Nice engine Rob... I'm sure the buyer will be significantly faster with this in a bike than the standard!

Last I heard from Ras is that nothing ever turned up but this was a few months ago now. I have yet to search Kenny's garage (:D) but my previous inspection of Mr Farmers garage would mean that he would have been unlikely to fit another engine in it should he have wanted to!

thats a shame your not going to get too ride a bike with this one in it Rob it looks a corker
