I had exactly the same problem with my 60cs cutting out due to loose batteries.

I have been using it off road on the KTM. I solved the problem by placing two of those foam ear plugs between the back case and the batteries.

I have since wired it up to the main battery. The units is mounted very securely with a touratec mount and two mild steel bars from homebase. see pic.

Cheers for that - I'll try to stick summat up it's back to see if that helps...

I tried using cardbord to make the fit tighter but it did not work. So I put foil on the negative end of the battery effectivly making them a slight bit longer. End of problem. However as KTM says the best solution is to hard wire.

Cool! Thanks for that! I'll add some foil in the morning I will have a cable for it on the GS, but I'll be using the GPS in cars and on other bikes too - so it needs to work with the batteries in.

I bought a cigarette lighter power cable for it and cut it in half. Then added a phono connecter (hi fi) so I could use the cigarette adaptor in the car or plug it into the socket I put on the bike. (with a fuse) been working fine ever since.

Cable is defo the way to go...
