£54, from £404 to £460.
I knowYou look a lot older than 41!![]()
Thanks anyhow.Absolute shower of shite are BeMoto... Be warned folks.I was with them 3 years but the premium they sent this month on renewal was 40% up so no claims nothing different so i shaped with my feet fecking big steps and found same deal 50% less.
I have used them for years and always found them brilliant especially when problems have arose . They have always returned my calls and done everything i have asked , granted not always the cheapest but i rate their Customer service , i suppose all it takes is a few uninterested staff to get a bad name .Absolute shower of shite are BeMoto... Check out the admin fee, mine went from 21 to 50. Had a conversation and got renewal within about a tenner over last years. Haven’t had to use them in earnest yet and my expectations are not too high tbh, for the second time they have asked for proof of ncd, weird considering it was accrued, at least in part, with them…My premium has gone up this year by a whole £54, from £404 to £460 with BeMoto Comprehensive (Titanium cover), 41 year old male, 14 years NCD, WD Postcode (inside M25). The insurance renewal is not due until mid May.
Checking the paperwork that BeMoto have sent me through, the valuation of the bike is probably circa £1000-£1300 to high now. Adjusting that might bring the policy cost down a little. Still £54 is an increase no matter how small. I feel that those days somehow slipped now, when for each year of me being good, I was rewarded with a lesser pricey premium.
A quick meerkat comparison check, thrown out a cheapest policy (with all add-ons) at £520. I recon if I do have a chat with the BeMoto call centre chimp, the policy might come down to under £400 shillings.
and that is the sign of a company moving from their initial ethos of offering exemplary customer service to a corporate numbers game with back office by automation on the cheap. Carole Nash, Hastings, Bennetts and Devitt all went the same way.for the second time they have asked for proof of ncd, weird considering it was accrued, at least in part, with them…
Whom would you recommend to give a go, if it is not a BeMoto or any of the above?and that is the sign of a company moving from their initial ethos of offering exemplary customer service to a corporate numbers game with back office by automation on the cheap. Not a lot of options really. I think Bikesure/Adrian Flux has the best reputation
Howden, was A Plan, a high street broker seems well regarded. Will that last with a takeover by a huge corporate entity?
I am currently covered via Devitt so I don't immediately steer clear of the usual suspects but I am picky about the underwriter. Currently Ageas. You have to balance cost with the other factors like in term charges and reputation for service. If the latter is a web portal or chatbot, it needs to work not end with "ring 0345..." where you sit in a queue for 2 hours. I recently left Yorkshire Bank for these reasons when the service was enshittified after Virgin Money took over, closed branches and implemented poor quality IT and call centres.
In some ways, the underwriter is more important. One always has the option to cut out a broker and go direct to an underwriter. I had to do it when a house insurance broker dragged their feet authorising a claim. I went direct to Groupama and all was resolved within 48 hours.

Just taken out a reasonably priced two bike policy with Bikesure+2 for Bikesure. Both the wife and I have gone with them as the most competitive over the last year.
Update;Just taken out a reasonably priced two bike policy with Bikesure![]()
That is a bummer Tony..it really is impossible to fathom out just how they all operate !Update;
Have had a call from Bemoto reference their refusal to insure me. Turns out i got false information from their agent in that i was too old for a quote. In fact, the real reason was that, it being a two bike policy and i haven't owned the Suzuki for 12 months (swapped it for my Himalayan earlier this year) therefore that's the reason for the refusal. Had i been insuring just the GS they would have quoted me.
Still not happy as Bikesure sorted it for me fast and easy and, with a reasonable quote, pity Bemoto couldn't do the same but, hey, it is what it is.

It will be interesting to see what kind of quotes I get. I'll take my renewal with me so I can guarantee I am looking at like for like.I am heading to the NEC on Saturday to go insurance shopping before my renewal comes due, although my Carol Nasty premium has come DOWN by £30 odd this year, so they aren't fleecing me and I have two, fairly high value classic bikes on stated agreed value within the four bikes insured. I hope Footman James is there as I will give them a chance, besides which the insurance stands usually have goodies and sweets! I will be taking my courier bag with flask and comestibles though, I am not queuing for ages to get fleeced in the cafe. It was always on expenses previously.It will be interesting to see what kind of quotes I get. I'll take my renewal with me so I can guarantee I am looking at like for like.
"get your smartphone out, sir, and we will show you how to get a quote online"
I spent a couple of days trying to fill in the forms to get 'meerkat' quotes for the car.... it times out before I get the boxes filled in. That was on the confuser. I like telephoning humans or sitting with them face to face. Online quotes are totally soulless and bloody difficult.
