Had a prang on my trip to Italy and ended up taking out 2 cars ... but bent my left crash bar in the process .. I am assuming BMW will sel me replacement bits but wondered if there are other options i should look at ?

Any input appreciated

Steve

IMO the bmw bars are of little use, go for Hepko and Becker:thumb

crash bars ...

hi , thanks for the input , has anyone got any pics of an adventure with said bars on it ? I can only find line drawings on line .

thanks, Steve

Some folk say they can't get their rocker covers off with these fitted but that's not been a problem with the four 1150s I've used them on.

Getting at the alternator belt with them on is a pain but I'm going to modify these for easy access:thumb

And what has you not quite convinced? Interested to hear..... (and might be interested if you're selling them)

I've used them for ten hard years with no damage at all to my bikes despite a few.... hmmmm several 'incidents'.
Perhaps just on the road head guards would be good in a slide but I can't see the 6mm bolts holding up to a good clout which the H&B have stood up to.

They're not for sale unless it's a straight swop for your panniers:D

the 6mm bolts are basically just there to stop the covers falling off as you scoot about in a crash the shape of the covers is what keeps them on the heads not the 6mm bolts
