It's the speed appropriate to the road that counts......we could all probably name hump backed bridges on 60MPH NSL roads that you'd be a twat to ride over at 60mph or bends on country roads that, legally, you could do at the national speed limit, but you'd be an utter cnut to do so on.... and if you ride around ANY corner faster than you can see to stop in, you deserve everything you get
if (worst case scenario here) there were a couple of kids playing or wandering across the road there, even out in the country........what would the story be now?
Glad you made it out alive, but sorry, you were evidently riding too fast for the road conditions/what you could see, there's no 'maybe' about it..... you were in the wrong.
