sorry about this guys and gals tried the search option but threw allsorts up.

Been lurking a while nealy bought a GS last year - anyway just ordered myself a new GS adventure with dynamic and premium.....havent got a fortune left in the kitty but wondered what aftermarket add ons would be a bonus.

practical (ok dull:D) stuff I had in mind were a guard for the engine or extended mudguard? extra power socket for pillion, rear hugger/mudguard.

Also thought about ventureshield for the tank:confused:

Any advice appreciated as I am totally new to this.:thumb2

Happy new bike, you lucky so and so, my advice is get what you like, and if there is nothing you fancy, there is no need to get anything :)

Mud Sling, Fenda extenda, the rest ? it's up to you. There are loads of bits and bobs but it's up to you what you put on. Ride it and enjoy it. :thumb

Mark Hooton Crud Catcher (the single best item I've ever fitted, totally protects the vulnerable front engine plate), Sargent seat (look after your arse-you've only got one!), Fender extender (helps the crud catcher), Twat Nav (never get the blame for getting lost again!), BMW tankbag, Ilberger carbon hugger, Beowulf can and a pair of Dunlop Roadsmarts. All these (plus my Adventure screen, spotlights, winglets and Scala rider G4 bluetooth intercom) have all made my standard GS riding experience that much better.

Mind you, that little lot cost me well over two grand.

But I'm happy with the results.:D

Side stand extender which stops the bike leaning over too far...its a heavy bugger to straighten up!

Mudsling...protects the rear shock from muck

Fender Extender...keeps muck off the front of the engine (which is prone to corrosion)

Headlamp wire mesh style protector....supposedly for stopping stones smashing the headlight but more for that 'round the world' look as you ride to Tescos!

Sat Nav.....get off the beaten track and explore

Jeez, that topbox looks as big as the caravan...:P

The list can be endless...but the most popular replies to this sort of question tend to be...

Sargent Seat
HID's
Mudsling
Crud Catcher
Headlight Protector
Oil Cooler Protector
Sat Nav
Side Stand Enlarger Plate
Brake Lever Extender
Gear Lever Extender....

....the list is endless, but I'd say all of the above are the more useful options and come highly recommended.

Enjoy the new bike :thumb2

....oh...I forgot....longer legs if you've got a GSA! :thumb

cheers all has given me some good ideas to ponder whilst waiting for the bike. :beerjug:

Think I'll give the sheepskin seat pad mentioned on the other thread a miss though !

Congrats on your new purchase, I picked my GSA last week & so far fitted Mudslings front & rear, really easy to fit & a Baglux tank cover because I already have existing Baglux stuff to fit on it.
I had to get a Datatag kit for insurance (H&R) & a couple of tins of ACF50.
Next thing to get is a Cameltoe or similar.
I'm sure there will be more as the miles creep up. :flag
