I've seen a lot of posts on Risers and Pullbacks - but has anyone tried a range or even just a couple of different ones.

My 08 bars are already set toward the rider and I need the bars back just another inch or so, and though I don't actually need the bars raised - I'd like the option to try various positions, see what works best for me.

I like the look of the ones from Nippy's but they don't have any potential to adjust how far back they pull.

I have seen some chrome or stainless units that appear to allow the setting to be changed to achieve greater or lesser pull back (at the cost of being taller or shorter I have to say) but I cant seem to get back to the thread I saw them on (searched!!) possibly on ADV.

Any thoughts?

Wunderlich do a set of adjustable risers for the GS, they do raise the bars a little bit and have 3 positions fwd/bwd.

Thanks Talonfs - those ones do raise the bars regardless of the position selected - but they do too have the forward / backward adjustment.

Bit spendy though!!!

have you got a link to these please, looking for something for myself

Just got the Nippy Normans bar risers and unfortunately the dont go any where near the 08 bar brackets.

Looks like I need to get some made up because these bars are crippling my hands with all my weight shifted forward!

I'm on Tyneside and need to get some brackets made-up ASAP. Can anyone recommend a local machine shop that could produce some for me?

if its just bar risers try searching (streetfighter or bsh) mags.. they do 7/8 and 1/2 inch risers , in vendors section.
mite be worth a look.
you should find a custom machinist shop, local to ye area.

ugg.

Its bar back's I really need - with or without risers!

Don't fret pet, these are from Wunderlich. Maybe just what you need, got them from Motoworks back in 04. They might still stock them. I used to be almost in tears with my back after a few hours. These cured the problem.

Have a look at these. I have just fitted a set to my 1150GS. I like the idea of the adjustment arc.:thumb2

Ahebron, I ordered a set of these couple of days ago. I suspect the only potential problem with these bars is that they may foul my tankbag - but as you say - because of the adjustability arc they could actually be fitted with the 08 standard risers reversed giving standard height but with an inch of pullback or so.

I'll see when they arrive. I got then direct from Rox too BTW.

Thats interesting, ROX sent me to Adventure Workshop whenI asked about buying a set. Mine arrived last week and I fitted them in 1/2 hour, had to let go the front legs to feed the hydraulic pipes around the back of them so I had enough length with the rise. Went on a 60 mile ride thwe other evening with them fitted and yes a definite improvement. No wrist ache and standing is a lot easier, now I need some lower pegs. One tip when fitting the ROX risers two of the setscrew will not be easily accessible to tighten so I fitted it so I could still just rotate the bars then wound up the ones that I could get to. Used Loctites on all screw

Thanks Bud - I was expecting some challenges with tightening because of the angle I need the risers at. By SetScrew I assume you mean the top bolts on the original mounts where the riser bar-ends will fit in?

I also need some lower pegs - mainly because the seat - peg length makes my knees ache and that can only get worse when the slightly lower seat arrives.

I've got a brand new set of TT lowered pegs for my (now gone) Dakar. I'll see if they can be cobbled to fit properly.

oh yeah... dunno. Cost $130 (£65) including postage from the US and have been used for precisely 4 days before deciding that I was going to sell the Buell anyway.

How about £40 (plus postage)?

Sorry - didn't mean for this to turn into a For Sale post!
