Not wishing to tempt providence but thought it was about time I got some decent breakdown cover.

I am looking for a policy that covers me as an individual (rather than a particular vehilce) the rationale being that i am covered whether on two wheels or four.

Any recommendations out there?

my cover runs out next month and I'm considering joining CSMA to access their discounted Britannia cover http://www.csmaclub.co.uk/shop/carshop/breakdowncover which costs from £68 to £103 with the latter including European cover for a nominated vehicle.

Membership costs £16 a year and this includes their Motoring Legal Expenses policy which is less than many insurers charge as an add-on to a policy.

I've used NCI Vehicle Rescue for 4+ years now.

Called 'em out twice in that time for my Honda CRM ("fixed" at the roadside) and Triumph TT600 (recovered as the engine was what is technically known as "buggered"). My 4 wheeler has been more reliable :blast

The wife and I have "personal" cover which does what it says on the tin - covers both of us for any vehicle.

Cost us £63 all in this year (just renewed this month). No complaints.

Look at ADAC, good cover for abroad, covers whatever you are in /on, if you breakdown in UK and call the freephone number, you get..... the AA !!!:ronno

I've just taken out a policy with these guys. Money Saving expert recommend them, and the only downside I see is the fact you have to pay up front and claim back - no problem if you have space on a credit card.

£38 for a year including recovery and £65 of homestart, for me and the missus driving any vehicle. Can't be bad.

Autoaid. Covers you and your spouse in any vehicle.

I've used them for 5 ish years. Two years ago I had my 4x4 recovered from Wales and the next day my bike recovered from the Cotswolds. They paid out within about 2 weeks.
