Congrats eggy, Getting the cases thrown in was definitely worth a few squid. Your first service should be free though according to BMW?? or were you trying to get the parts (filters etc) thrown in?
I recently px'd my tiger for a 12. Living in Norfolk we dont have a local BM Bike dealer so I have to travel
My first stop was Peterborough for a test ride however I actually bought my bike from Cannons in Chelmsford who gave me £500 more px.
The main difference is the fact that Cannons sell their trade-ins regardless of make whereas Balderstones only sell BM's. I think this gave them a bit more to play with. This is something worth looking for in a dealer.
Also Cannons offer a reduced labour rate on servicing if you buy a bike from them plus the standard 10% off accesories etc.
There are some deals/offers to be had if you shop around.
I too am having to travel to a dealership, nearest one being 30+ miles away, looking at Cannons it's nigh on 200 away from me!
I've another test ride on this coming Wednesday, so I shall see what this dealer has to say, inbetween time I can tootle around a couple of other "local" ones to see what they have to offer. Worst case scenario is I wait until early 2006 and get one then. Having saved hard all winter!
First step is to sell your bike privately and remove it from the equation. By part exchanging you are selling your bike cheap and probably buying for full retail. Either way you loose. Second step is if you are going to borrow money then get the cheapest rate loan by checking the internet for best deals. Do not get finance from the dealer unless it is zero rate and your quoted APR not Flat rate, which means nothing to the punter. Make sure you are not paying any set up fees or final instalment fees. You should not have to pay any additional interest fees if you settle early! If you do then shop for your money somewhere else. Simple tips to save you dosh.
