Best for email - iphone or blackberry?

Neither! Have a look at he Samsung galaxy S before you decide, emailing is easy, a 4" touch screen even I can use, and I'm even getting the hang of predictive text which is something I never thought I'd get used to. Brilliant for browsing the web as well.
I'm not certain about the iPhone but I do know that on the the Samsung you can download and install different keyboard apps for the touch screen, I'd be very surprised if you couldn't do the same on the iPhone.

The 500Mb allowance only applies to the content downloaded from the Mobile company, connect to a wireless lan and you can browse to your hearts content:thumb2

The iphone will come with 500mb data and 1gb wifi - does the phone automatically connect to a wifi network or is this manually controlled. Reason I ask is I can use the home wifi network - is it a case of me having to specify this each time I use the phone or will it seek a wifi first and then only a 3g link if a wifi isn't available?

You just switch the WiFi on and off, or you can just leave it on and when your in range it'll automatically connect, if no WiFi is available it uses the 3g network it uses more battery though with the WiFi left on. I've got at least 5 or 6 WiFi connections in the memory and the Galaxy connects with less fuss than my laptop.

I too have both - BB for work, iPhone for everything else. And that segregation pretty much sums up what they're best at.:thumb2

BB to me is a work tool which means email and calendar. Also happens to be best for texting too.

iPhone is better at everything else. Any iPhone email interface I've used is pretty crap compared to BB.

If I had choose one thought it would be iPhone - although I've not tried any touch screen BB's yet which might change my view. :D
