Hi guys,

I have a relative who rides a 650GS (800) and its getting to that time of year when gifts are considered.

What's the best gadget you guys have bought for around £40.00?

It can be bike specific or just a rider aid of some sort and cool enough for him to be interested when he open it on Xmas day so no High Vis vests thank you very much......

Anyway, thanks for any ideas.

Pair of LED spot lights are about £40. A bit more if you add switch dimmer and relay (if you want them to go bright with main beam)

Bendy, which leds do you have. Are they spots or fog? Searching led on here brings up lots of conflicting info! Prices also go up to 400 odd quid. Main beam is terrible so just want that bit more distance and brightness. Sorry to hijack the thread!

For the original poster, what about a satnav mount if he has a satnav. Ram mounts do some good stuff.

put it towards RAC cover :D

seriously - how about a tail bag or pack? or if they are year round some lovely warm combinations EDZdirect always have offers

The LEDs I have in mind are rectangular with six light elements. They are about the same width as GSA aux headlights. They are more bulky so it's either or but not both.

HOWEVER I'm yet to try them. They look to have plenty of lumens and come in flood or spot formats. BUT, BUT.

I've not looked for a while, but at this price they have to be worth a punt!

and you ask in the 1200 GS Hexhead section.
Yep - you do need help. :blast

Well I ride a Gs1200 so thought I would put it in here AS WELL AS The 650 Twin section :)
thanks for everyone else's comments and sugestions. I don't thinking I have time to arrive from China though.... :blast

Thanks Bendy, will wait until you try them and post your findings.

Op, what about some sort of puncture repair kit, can be taken from bike to bike then. There is an american one, cant remember the name and not sure if its available here anywhere.
Just remembered it

That and an electric pump and sorted. Just found this on amazon so you seem to be able to get them ok.

Muffs! I suppose it depends on whether he/she rides in winter but if they do than muffs are the dogs.

Following on from Twizzles suggestion, how about an R3. I have one and its brilliant, good warranty support as well. Keep phone, wallets etc nice and dry and handy.

Go on be a devil and try the lights before someone else has done all the hard work. ;)

If you (or the recipient) is bothered about punctures get some Puncturesafe. I've used it the great success and so do the Police (they obviously listen to me - Oh yes). Slime is another one but the last time I used that stuff it rotted the alloy where tyre levers had caused paint scratches.
