I've always used TKC80s off-road on my R1100GS and been happy with them.

However, in my infinite stupidity, I have entered the 10 hour Big Bike Challenge of the Dawn to Dusk Enduro and have free choise of tyres.

Is there anything out there that I can use that is more extreme off-road? Doesn't even have to be road legal, just has to last 10 hours of me wobbling round the off-road section in Wales. As far as I am aware, most full on enduro tyres are made for lighter weight enduro bikes and mostly for tubed applications.

What tyres are available to me to use or should I simple stick with the TKCs that I know and love?

What appreciate any advice.

Cheers

Sid

Mitas C-02 rear - 130/80 - 17

Mitas C-11 front - 70/100 - 19 but that may be a bit narrow for the rim. You'd need to use tubes at both ends.

And although better in the muddy stuff, if rocky like here your rims will take a pounding with the narrower tyres:beer:
