:bounce1 hi all, new to this gs thing...always had sports bikes till now, really pleased with the bike as i now have to comute by bike, where as before i just cleaned it and rode round the same corners on sunny days.
can anyone help...? , i am after a better screen for my 07 gs, i am 6ft2" and the standard one is too low....so i get bloody wet and end up deaf from wind noise....any ideas on a better one would be great, cheers

Try the Tourtech screen extender. I have found that at 6.2 (in my high heels!) on a GSA i can leave the visor open at speeds...well a little in excess of the national speed limit....there is no buffeting or any noise increase.

Fitted the laminar lip to my 08 GS

Bought it from this chap.

I also fitted a Laminar Lip and found that it did raise the airflow off the visor onto the top of the helmet. However, it did not improve the quality of the airflow - which was still turbulent:(

I got a used Cee Baileys screen off this site, which is much better. Probably not strictly high enough for my height (6'4"), but the airflow is clean and so it doesn't really bother me:) It is noticable how the CB screen design is very smooth and rounded, like the NN high wide, and I am sure this is better than the angular design of the BM standard screen.

Also a point to note is that I went out this week with the vario panniers in extended position. I do normally have these on the bike, but on the closed setting. Extending the panniers seemed to result in the return of some buffeting, which shows how many variables there are involved here and that the luggage used and probably the shape of the rider affect the air flow and the suitability of various screen types.

Trial and error may be called for, or find some local Tossers with screen mods and try theirs first:clap

Jeezly crow, don't get me started. :spitfire If there is one thing that will make me sell my GS it's the fecking buffeting. I'm just 6' and have tried Tobinators and now an MRA screen, both screens in any combination of positions bit to no avail.

What I have figured out though is that the screen has little or nothing to do with it! The turbulent air is coming up from between the oil cooler and the tank and, I'm fairly sure, is created by the beak flowing large amounts of air into the void there with nowhere for it to go but up or to a lesser extent down and around.

Obviously I'm not an expert in aerodynamics but experience suggest this is it. So, no screen may help by whipping the disturbed air away at much lower, chest or waist, height? If you suss it let us know please.

The Mra varo screen maxi ?.I´m 187cm and the buffeting is gone when i got the new windscreen.

Tried a bike with the winglets on? Cheaper than buying them and finding they don't work ;)

Wunderlich Ergo screen... works a treat. love it.

So that about 6 different answers ..... So basically its a nightmare choosing one. Anything is better than stock though. Wish they'd just make the adventure screen standard on all bikes. Not only does it offer better protection, but in my opinion it looks the dogs danglies.

There'll never be a "best" screen that keeps everyone happy.

Too many variables and that's just on the person sat on the front. The aerodynamics were miles different once Eronbak was comfy
