Whats the most comfortable seat for a F800GS, just want something to help with the old monkey Buttttt!!!
Airhawk cushion anygood???

stuart :)

It must be the "Sargent Seat" with its super Atomic foam.
The BMW comfort seat is £200 approx yet this Sargent seat is selling for £295 +£20 p&p second hand on E Bay (It is heated).
Im just a bit bitter because I stopped bidding when it got to £225.

cheaper option

A Tony Archer re-cover did it for me! :thumb
And at £70-odd a much better option IMHO.

I've managed >400 mile days on mine. Before I was up on the pegs within 30 miles.

BMW Comfort seat works for me, didn't get on with the airhawk for various reasons. With the comfort seat you sit a bit more 'into' the bike, and it's a bit softer so you can push a bum cheek in when cornering, not to mention generally more comfortable. However it does change the riding position considerably, and again it takes some getting used to.

But tricky one, it's down to personal likes and what works for some etc...

Airhawk II

Ive just upgraded to an 800 from a 1200 and I have to say that the seat on the 800 is poor. Ive bought an airhawk II which has made a load of difference. It does take a bit to get used to but its well worth the money.

perhaps the seat is too poor because you're spending too much time sitting on it? try riding some of the terrain the bike is built for, you'll be forced to stand up...and then your arse will be just fine :augie

i've no complaints about it, as when i bought the bike i wanted an enduro bike, not an RT. is it about perspective?

I have just changed the OE seat to a Corbin one. Not the cheapest (£440) BUT is extremely comfortable, alters the riding position to a flatter seat (not the old one where I was constantly pushed forward) AND I could customise the colour, so I didn't have to go with plain black! As I have an anniversary edition bike, this was a plus.

I bought it through www.battistinis.co.uk who have been very good.

My wife has a lowered 650GS - andy better seat options for that without adding height (we even have to back of the preload to get her feet on the deck)

I have the lowered seat on my F650GS. This man:

put a memory foam pad inside it, for me and my pillion. Result? Happiness!

He's only a short ride from you, and can do it while-you-wait for about £80. The entrance road to his premises will give you a bit of off-road pothole experience, too...

H'mmmm...I must be odd (or at least my behind must be :eek) as I really don't the bumblebee's seat uncomfortable...

To be fair...I am somewhat longer and leaner than your traditional Tosser shape...!!! :P

The new Airhawk II seat cushions go for about $100 dollars.
Worth every single penny. Takes a few rides to get used to and to get the right amount of air. After that it is tremendous comfort.
Personally I didn't like the BMW comfort seat when I tried it because it is lower than the stock seat and locks you into one position and my 3/4 length First Gear jacket was getting caught in the back on the seat "step".
Airhawk solved all the problems, goes on and off easy as well.

Tony Archer (Huddersfield) £70 delivered.Went to see him first then posted the seat got it back within a week . He re foamed the seat and made it wider 1 inch higher and recovered .Think gell can be added for around another £60.He thought it would not be neccessary ,he was right. Done 4 hours twice with out getting of the bike.Bargin

I think its 1,5 cm higher than the stock seat (895mm instead of 880mm)
