Best travel insurance for the more aged among us

in response to my last post, I read through the new Nationwide Flexplus policy yesterday and followed it up with a call to add additional days upgrade to their 31 day holiday term.

Overall view -

There is no ‘over 70’ charge on the Aviva policy as there was with the previous insurer UK Ins, saving £70.

The medical history charges are lower as well, so UK Ins upgrade cost of of £330 was reduced to £150 with Aviva.

The additional 6 days for my extended trip cost £97, so even adding this to the medical history charge makes the overall cost lower by £83 than previous years.

There is also no mention that I, nor the CSA, could find of any restrictions on motorcycle use other than the expected clauses covering helmet and full licence requirements.

thanks for the update re. the new underwriter's T&C for the Nationwide Flexplus package. It still remains too expensive for me compared to separate policies for travel & breakdown. I guess it starts to get better value if you have a partner and very much so if you have eligible children at home and/or a fleet of old bangers.
