Best Way to buy a GS?

If you'd consider a nice nearly new one there's a bloke on here called Big George who's looking to sell! :D

You'd get it for a good price too :thumb2

I think I would be buying an almost-new bike with low mileage - with cash (privately or dealer).......

If you are able to avoid the PCP bandwagon and still get the bike you want - go for it.

Consider paying part of the amount on a credit card, and pay it off before any interest is accrued.

From moneysavingexpert.com

'Basically, buy something - in this case a car - anywhere worldwide, costing between £100 and £30,000 and pay for any of it (even just 1p) on a credit card and the card company is jointly liable with the seller. So if it's faulty or you don't get the service, you can go to the card firm for your money back.'

I don't have a trade in but I'm certainly not getting anywhere on negotiation apart from the free Nav 5. I'm starting to think its crazy having read the thread that Nice n Fat flagged up to buy anything but a really nice two or three year old bike.

Unless they've extended the deal the free Nav5 was only available on new TE GS's registered before 31/12/2015 which was why I got mine last Friday. There are new GS's about you could buy before the end of the month from stock rather than put an order in but you'd need to check when the dealers are open as I know my local one shuts Christmas eve until the beginning of Jan and they have 2 in stock. Good luck.

The dealer was honouring the Nav deal as long as the deal was done this side of the New Year. Maybe that was his way of offering a discount. I'm sure there will be an offer in January and the bike was not arriving until February. Anybody know of any new Triple Blacks with gear assist I'd be interested to know.

Thanks for all the comments by the way. What a great forum!

Paying interest on borrowed money to buy something that costs money to run & depreciates?????

If you must have a new LC GS TB then go for it the best way you can / want to! I did the other route in May this year and bought a '63 TC TB that was ex-PCP with only 9k miles on it. I've already put another 6k on to that. As expected it was fully loaded and I didn't give the tax man his 20% cut which is horrendous. There are also a lot of ex-PCP GS LCs available but, obviously, not the TB variant. You pays your money and takes your choice! :beerjug::nenau
