best way to carry a tripod?

I've seen papparazzi in london with tripods in lengths of 6" drain pipe strapped to the sides of their bikes.

Seems like a good solution.....angle it upwards so the 'pod can't fall out, screw an end cap on one end and spray it black and it'll look pukka as well.

You could even stuff a bit of foam down the open end to stop it bonking around inside the tube.

If you're 'rigged' like me a 1200 with a Wunderlich seat does the job well.

"You should be bloody well hung"

"Thank you madam, actually I am"

Peter - I wish:)

How does that Post Office ad go???

"I saw this and I thought of you" ;)

And they do have UK distributors.

cheers bill - that looks ideal....:) Did you happen to see who the uk distibutors are...? I can only find a US distributor.

When I'm touring I take my touring tripod. I is essentially three whip ariels which form the tripod. It just fits in the tank bag...not much bigger than a large tube of toothpaste. Its stable enough for an SLR.

I've ordered the kaoko bag from S Africa - Only 41 quid inc. delivery ...GBP is very strong against the Rand...
