New member. Have an 06 1200GS and find the buffeting above 75mph poor, especial in the summer months when I prefer to use an open face helmet. Seen a Givi screen on a 1200GS and looks good but a bit cumbersome. What's the best solution - bigger screen (and winglet - horrible) or spoiler and tobinators. It is complicated and you are buying blind. Help

That's an option I had not thought of doing. Have you tried it? If so, what were the results?

Hi, a lot depends on your height and shape when it comes to screens. Nobody seems to be the same so it can be a bit difficult to work out, and obviously you might end up buying stuff that doesn't work for you.

I'm 5'11", average build. I had the standard screen in the top position, which caused a lot of buffeting and noise. I fitted some Nippy Normans winglets which stopped the buffeting, and a touratech screen spoiler which not only stopped the noise, but meant I could ride all day long at 70 with my visor open

You'll find a lot of different opinions when searching on here, which can get pretty confusing. My best advice for you is whatever you want to try, buy it second hand if you can. That way you shouldn't lose out too much if it doesn't work.

Welcome to the forum by the way :thumb2

Wonderlich ergo screen is great - you get a set of fake tobinators with it allowing much adjustability. However you find yourself looking through it when cornering which is a bit of a pain when its covered in muck (or rain)

Winglets keep the wind off chest and shoulders and don't look that bad. The adv screen is the best compromise between height and buffet but you need £300!

No screen is like riding an unfaired bike - no annoying buffet just a continuous blast of wind......
