I have already done Ypres and the Menin Gate

Some interesting sites near Nieuport

Get yourself across to Diksmuide, go to the museum and climb the Ijzertoren, fantastic views from the top.

There are loads of original trenches within walking distance. There is a well known German cemetery nearby, well worth a look at.

Google Lille WW1 sites. Even if it turns up organised tours, you can copy (or at least work out) places to see. And, hey.... You can baskin the sunshine that you've done it yourself.
