Hi, I've stripped my bevel box to sort out a leaking input shaft oil leak. I've made a jig to lock up and hold the bevel box, and also a big pin type socket to get big lock nut out, heated them up to remove them, and they were bloody tight! Just coming up to rebuilding and the factory manual says blue hylomar on the bog castlated locknut, and loctite 273 on the big nut on the shaft. Loctite don't list 273 anymore, but historical info says it's a threadlock and thread sealant. Does anyone know, or has tried if 270, or 243 would be good enough, or any other equivalent. I wouldn't want to strip this again if it leaks from the threads!
