Just a tentative feeler, I am thinking of taking a few (max 6) GS or KTM Adv riders for a spot of introductory Green Laning on the Berkshire downs.

It'll be an easy route aimed squarely at first timers. Road tyres will be fine although if its really wet we'll have to cancel.

No real rules, other than its all at your own risk etc etc. Only thing I insist on is decent gear including stout boots (trials, enduro or Moto-X - not road boots). I have a few spare pairs of boots you can borrow if needed (9 & 10).

It'll be no Walters Arena style experience but its free and I can give you a bit of advice on enjoying your big bike on the slippery stuff. I'll also introduce you to the TRF (Trail Riders Fellowship) who are active in the Thames Valley with groups in Oxford and in Reading (Lodden Valley). The TRF is instrumental in keeping green lanes open for use by responsible motorcyclists and if have an interest in this its well worth joining.

Put your name down if interested and if it happens I'll see you come the day.

Meet at my place in Reading at 2pm Sat 2nd June, with a bit of faffing we should plan on a good 2 /12 hrs on the trails, squeeze in a quick pint to round things off, and still be home in time for tea with the missus.

Would love to come, but getting back off Honeymoon late on the 31st May and new bike being delivered on 1st June.

If still space available and subject to weather being OK, new bike being delivered and not just feeling zonked from Jetlag I am in.

Defo up for any other such opportunities as I quite fancy getting into some gentle green laning with new bike (1200 Tenere) so keep me posted.

Hi, Mike

I'm very interested in coming along if any spaces left.

I've done about 7000 on my 1200 GSA since last July and done the Mod 1 off road course with BMW ( before that it was 1972 when I last rode a bike ! )

Cheers

No worries you are the first one in as a defo, hopefully we'll get a few more - and sunshine on the day!

Keep an eye of the thread for more details.

That should be 2 and a half hours......

Wardy???! What are you doing on here? I may just have to come along for the video footage!:clap

Guys I am really pleased to see a few of you are up for this. But sadly I have been told I am going camping this weekend by "the boss" so I have to move the date. Really sorry.

So same format but on another day. I can either do 30th June in the afternoon, or we can squeeze a few hours in of a week day evening, say 14th June - meet at the start of the Ridgeway in Streatley at 7pm. I know a few of you are coming some way but if we do it any later we'll run out of light.

Can you let me know your preference.

Hell if there is interest both why not.

Thanks, Mike

Guys

Circumstances dictate I can only do 30th June in the afternoon. This is getting a bit messy and confusing so I will start a new thread.
