Hi all, I am a UK size 13 with Shrek / Hobbit feet - and usually get Hitec or industrial trainers and boots. Docs usually fit (although not always) and anything marked fashion or Italian, forget it.

S3 safety boots are usually a great fit, but horrific to change gear due to the very thick soles and bulbous toe caps. I have an R65 road bike. I had a game getting a helmet and 5XL Germot from Germany finally solved that. So going into a local motorcycle place is going to be a waste of time. Moto Central have a huge stock and were really helpful with helmets but I don't want to do all that again. Same with formal shirts and suits, embarrasing. My lad is a 16 in shoes, but he knows where to get them online and what manufacturers fit.

Any recommendations for short, medium or full boots for clod-hopper here?

I wear daytona roadstar GTX size 13. A little loose on my skinny foot, but better compared to previous size 12 I had, crushed toes and all, wankers never told me that you can get daytona boots as big as size 14.

Now while I agree with Wobble that Sidi make fantastic boots; I am currently on my second pair of Adventure2’s and have a pair waiting for when these need replacing; they are Italian and come with a slim foot. Which is why having wide size 7 feet means my boots are a size 9 to get the width.
The two boot manufacturers that would have something to fit you, dogshome, are:
Daytona, who make some amazing totally waterproof boots in bigger sizes and they seem to last practically forever.
Altberg, motorcycle boots for the discerning rider based in Richmond, Yorkshire. Waterproof and very long lasting (and not too far from Newark) who could probably make you a bespoke pair.
Not tried the Altberg’s myself but know plenty of people who have and I have only heard good things about them.

Do you find yourself being chased down the street by peasants with pitchforks ?

And do you go scuba diving, because if you do I have wet suit for you !

Another vote for Altbergs... Their factory is just off Scotch Corner. They do all sizes and in five width fitting. Great guys to deal with and awesome boots too... nice day out!!!

Alt-Berg again

Super quality: mine are now 5 years old and wearing very well. Made to measure for your plates, ( I am a tiny-footed 12.5UK) and well worth the money.

I am in same situation as you, I have Lowa boots for work, keen do all their range in 13 and all fit well I have had 3 or 4 pairs over the years, bike boots I have Daytona for road boots, garnne SG12's are great, and in alpine star all in a size 13 fit well except the tech 10 where I went up to a 14 due to the internal boot but they all work really well. I also have a set of White boot company smoke jumpers that I got in the states near 20 years ago

Thanks guys, I have a lot to look at now :D

Lots of boots I've never heard of and some I had. I'd never heard of Jallate before going offshore years ago and they were like slippers after a week of use. I did have Sidi motocross boots as a youth and they only fitted comfortably once they were nearly worn out..... Yes, a slim fit.

I have super-wide feet. Daytona do boots on three different lasts including a super wide fitting. Oh how I like them. Quite possibly my most comfortable footwear.

For ordinary shoes/boots try the Keen brand. Their stuff is mostly wide to very wide fitting.

I too am cursed with size 13 hobbit feet, very wide at the toes.
I’ve Daytona travel star GTX in 13 wide & a set of their EVO Voltex boots too.
They’re bloody marvellous all day comfortable.
Not tried Altberg motorbike boots but I use their walking boots as they make one with a high volume called GFit for us with peasant feet. Again that’s a brilliant boot.

The boots (Alpinestars Newland) are now like slippers to wear. Very comfy. I don't know about water resistance yet, but they keep the draft out and are flexible enough to change gear. Not cheap, but not expensive either.
