Again the "garden route" has been chosen by BMW for a launch, they were being prepped today at Knysna ready for the journo's:beer:

I find it strange that BMW choose to launch in one of the worlds most crime infested countries.

Has any one had a good look at Port Eliz, East London and Grahams Town recently?
Care to show some photos?

Are the BMW's so difficult to theft?
May be it's their weight that prevents them being lifted into a covered truck, never to be seen by the owner again.

Innit wierd seeing the wheel and exhaust back to front

I mean we have been seeing them on the left since the first generation G/S

Just a bit strange

Like hearing a 3 cylinder motor running and thinking that's not sounding just quite right?

Motorcycle theft is not the in thing in SA. The thief can barely drive a car let alone a mc.

The seats on the ones closest to the camera seem to be low, :bow:thumb hopefully means I don't have to put short arse suspension on it like my last one

Seems the centre stand doesn't lift the wheels clear of the ground by much, the rear wheel is 2" clear on my 07 when parked up on the flat.

Don't read too much into that photo....from the looks of the plastic and lack of screens, they're still being assembled.

Could well be that they haven't been 'set up' yet :nenau

Any reviews from a press launch should also be taken with a pinch of salt.....stories abound about launch bikes from all sorts of manufacturers being *ahem* rather more powerfully tuned than the final retail versions.......there's no emissions tests on a release event, so 'perhaps' press bikes are sent with full power maps etc regardless of what they will have when they arrive in the showrooms.

wonder how its going?

Wonder how its going?...thoughts n quotes please :nenau

I've ridden 10 days garden route, 3 days into Lesotho and 21 days across Durbs to Springbok, up Namib and Botswana and back down to Durbs.

Not a hint of crime or aggression.

I'd get on the plane now for a chance to ride the new WC up the garden route.

Can I safely assume you hated every minute of it? Lesotho is da business was there in September, I guess relatively quiet roads good weather makes it spot on for pre european season launches.
