Big price drops on many Suzukis for 2026

At least people can stop moaning about KTM dropping prices over winter now, and at least with KTM it was sell-off from last years stock so by spring prices where back to normal, anyone with a used Suzuki is about to take a big & permenant kick in the nuts....

....But I think these prices look more realistic in the market right now.

Yeah but it’s not a winter price drop for Suzuki.
They have decided to make their prices more competitive.
Will be interesting to see how they price the new SV-7GX

Given that the Vstrom 650 is now £7399 , I reckon the new bike could be about £7899.

Looks great and the upgraded v twin from the Vstrom 650 is a cracker .

PCP-slave muppets.
I wonder how many actually bought their bike rather than just rent it ?

me

and the incoming press release from the BMW Finance Director, "meh."

not only Chinese bikes, Suzuki bikes have looked expensive against the latest crop of Hondas.
That'll be Honda that only reduced the price of their bikes after the Chinese bikes came in. The Hornet SP would have been £14k+ otherwise. Again, this is just my guess, but Hondas have never been cheap and that Hornet is cheap. The GT too. Other manufacturers will be watching with interest to see if (especially) Suzuki sales go up. They were in the doldrums for years, so had to do something.

Thought you had a Guzzi ? You bought a new BMW ?

my R1200RS was bought outright in 2016. Also bought the Guzzi outright last year by part exing the R1200RS

I also bought a S1000XR outright in 2018, but that was 2 years old. Sold in 2023.

I have bought a car on PCP, my little Audi A1 but paid the balloon so own it now. The balloon was two thirds of the car's value in 2021 thanks to the Covid thing inflating used car prices. Seems it is still worth around that balloon price now so I think I won that one.

Yes but you were commenting on BMW sales in 2025 and I said I bet not many were bought . So you buying a new BMW a decade earlier is probably irrelevant 😜

I wonder how much has been triggered by Chinese bike prices and equipment levels. Quite a bit, I reckon.

A big factor is that the Yen has devalued a chunk in recent years making Japanese goods cheaper for us

I was talking to a Honda guy a couple of weeks ago, he did indeed say it was chinese pressure... As you say the Hondas look great value - just ordered a Hornet 750 for the Mrs, and it was way cheaper than the Suzuki 8S - but now they are on a par. The Honda has a 6 year warranty tho (and a seat height that the mrs likes), she tried the 8S but couldn't reach the floor as well as the honda

I did a review of the 8TT and made a point of saying I thought it was overpriced by about £1500 apparently Suzuki GB are a bit sensitive about their pricing and I think they were a bit miffed but its the truth.

I believe they had a lot of feedback on those retro bikes (havnt been selling too well) along the same lines

the dealer in Newtown, David Jones, dropped Suzuki in Dec 2024 as they were not selling. They remain a Yamaha dealer, as they sell loads of off road bikes, and also Honda for mowers, quads and ATVs.

I found out that this dealer has the same owner as the Shrewsbury Honda dealer who are moving to larger premises. I have been wondering if the Newtown place will close and everything merged onto the one site. There's enough space there to effectively have separate shops for Honda and Yamaha to keep those companies happy with their preference for solus dealers.

It doesn't matter how much they discount them they will still look naff, that's the main reason the retro's aren't selling. A bike that sells on image has to look the part at least
