Bigger fuel tank (Under seat)

Cracking job Grommit

Thats a great solution. I reckon that if he marketed them he'd do all right.
Looks really neat and tidy:thumb2

urrrrrgh

Thats just plain fookin nasty, would the TT 1200 underseat jobbie not fit. If anyone wants a tank making i've a guy here at Bentley who could make one to custom fit, it would look a damn sight neater and wouldn't restrict the wheel travel.
I think LOIQ's pannier jerrys looked a load better:augie

I think the idea is good, but would like to see the mounts to the frame include some shock absorbtion. Any flexing in the frame will transfer straight to the tank walls, eventually leading to fatigue fractures and petrol leaking on to the hot exhaust.

Perhaps the manufacture of the bike did not anticipate that people might want to ride them very far between fuel stops, the original tank seems pitifully small. :blast

7/10, a good idea but needs more thought, and some decent welding. :hide

tank

This may interest some HP2 owners like LOIQ
A home made fuel tank but looks very smart as well
It has all the CAD cutting templates as well
UK cost £150

in the words of andy pipkin ''I DON'T LIKE IT''-''I DONT WANT THAT ONE'' personally if you want it to go further on a tank then buy a gs adv or just carry a plastic jerry can far cheaper and a lot less aggro nice bit of fabrication so credit to you , i agree with the suspension probs though

That's so wierd I thought about doing that only snag I thought was when I going full kilter the offroad wheels are going to rip that off for sure.

My idea was to raise the seat up by 30mm and have the tank sit under the space. The fact I would never get my feet on the ground and the centre of gravity would be all wrong... did put me off...

However if matey can produce a tank which can be bought and delivered for money he would make a mint!
