Bike cleaning advice please

I spray mine down with a hose, give it a quick once over with a dish brush and a bucket of hot water with lots of fairy liquid in it. Then another blast with a hose, and then dry it with cold unfiltered air (i.e. I go ride the piss out of it) to get it dry.

I have used MuckOff for years on my bikes. Last two being GS'. If used in accordance with instructions it is an excellent product. I dilute mine 2-1 just to save money and it works just as well. Like anything if you fail to follow instructions tough shit.

My 2017 GS Rallye is 2.5 years old now. I cleaned it this morning and it is utterly mint. I use it every day for work and on 2-3 trips per year 13,500 miles. I have never used snow foam (see what I did there. I bought it back the the freekin thread :P).

I've got some muck-off, but stoped using it as so many saying it would damage the paint etc. TBH I'd used it for 6 months on my silver engined 15 plate with noting dulling off, but don't on my black engined 17 plate?
would love to use it again if okay as it does the job well??..

Be very careful about what cleaning products you use, or admit to using, should you ever need to look to BMW Warranty - Schtum #6 must have chosen his words carefully.

Buy cleaning products from a Motorrad dealer and keep the receipts

Younger, that looks very effective, is that what you regularly use?

SDoc cleaner has to go onto dry bike not wet like mud off

I know, but I still hose off any grit first, apply cleaner of whatever brand I happen to have to hand, SDoc, Muc-Off etc, agitate into hard to remove grime rinse off with normal hose pipe (mains pressure is very high in Tempsford) and then repeat the whole process.

I think you iss the point Sdoc does not work well or correctly when applied to a wet bike

Maybe you should read the instructions

Why bother printing instructions, it's almost like you know better than the manufacturer.

Merry boxing day.

I like to think that i dont know better than the people that make the stuff

You on the other hand clearly dose you should write to them and tell them they are wrong

It's some snowfoam that halfruads sell.....not own brand or AutoGlym.....some other stuff in a black bottle.

That's no agitation, just snowfoam.....a cup of tea and the pressure washer.

(but I will say that the bike was fairly clean to start with, having only just done a few hours on fairly clean roads)

Why not simply give it a regular coat of ACF50 and forget about cleaning the bike until it’s time for it to go. No more warranty claims and the bike will scrub up well when it’s time to return it :D

I’m happy that it works just fine the way I use it - maybe you were taught to follow orders and never think or experiment for yourself?

Sprayed plenty of ACF50 on mine often wonder what you do when the bike gets shitty .Last time I came home I hosed and lightly brushed the metal work hopefully that'll be ok. However come the spring how do you remove it as nice as it looks it feels a bit sticky so imagine crap will stick to it .

I used it one winter and ended up using jizer to get it off as I already had some though there will be other options I'm sure like white spirit of possibly wd40.
