Bike cleaning advice please

I use SDoc with the pressure applicator bottle. Does a great job as long as the bike isn't too mucky. Best job I've found for more stubborn dirt is a pre-wash, leave the bike to mostly dry off then apply SDoc. This has the advantage of getting rid of most of the heavier crud allowing SDoc to do a better job on the finer stuff. I know they say just to apply it and agitate if needed but I've never liked the idea of scrubbing crud into casing or other paint finishes as it's pretty abrasive and will damage the finish. I wouldn't dream of using a brush like you find at a jetwash for my car's paintwork so try not to on the bike except in areas where it won't matter so much.

I also occasionally use Trade Valet pre-wash snow foam and a Karcher applicator which works well but needs rinsing really well afterwards. Not too expensive at £17 per 5 litres and lasts ages diluted at 1:10 for the applicator bottle of the Karcher. I use that for the car too.

Every few months, the bike gets a really good clean and I re-apply ACF50. It's one reason I reckon why it's still in genuinely showroom condition after 17K miles/3 years.
