there is only 1 intercom that really works and ya can plug in ya cellphone mp3 and numerous other gadets. even autocom owners are changing to these quality made german units

I have an Autocom Pro-7 to which I have connected:

  • bike-to-bike
  • PTT
  • Garmin StreetPilot III
  • MP3 or radio
  • mobile telephone

Using the phone will mute all else. The system works well. What more do I need?

Steve, those Baehr's look alright...

http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/baehr/baehr-intercoms.htm

but I'm still going down the Autocom route. Everyone I've spoken seems happy enough with their Autocom, so I'll be tagging along with Judge & Phil on Wednesday, when they visit Autocom's HQ. Ideally I'd like to try before I buy, so I'll see if I can blag a demo to see what they sound like.

I've just got back from a visit to Autocoms HQ. Here are a few things that I've learnt from my visit :-

1) They earn too much. Their company car park is full of brand new Audi A8's, Lexus Sports and Mercedes Coupes. They've just moved in to a massive brand new industrial work unit around the back of their old unit as well.

2) They don't offer any discount whatsoever if you visit their HQ ( even though they're about to offer discounts at the NEC bike show in a few weeks time...)

3) The Autocom Pro kit will be available for £199 at the NEC.

4) They are announcing a new Autocom at the NEC. They're waiting for EC approval and the packaging and are hopefull that it'll be on sale at NEC bike show. They hinted that I'd be better off waiting for their new model, rather than getting the Pro 7. Despite being very tempted to get a Pro 7 from their HQ today, I've decided to wait and see what they're unveiling. I can't see how they can improve the old one much?

rider to pillion com etc

hello folks
had first ride at weekend with a pillion on board up to south lakes -great pub at yealand conyers & even better lunch - but to the point was told communication was needed if participation in biking was to be continued- so where should i access an autocom-are they any where near the north west?,though noted in a previous thread & what is a kenwood- is that for external communication- all comments/info gratefully received

jg, The Kenwood is a two way radio for bike to bike communication via an Autocom.
If you search this board for Autocomm you will spend the next 3 nights reading lots of info on them, :D:D but trust me when I tell you that if you want to talk to your pillion the only thing that works full stop is AUTOCOM. They usually have a stand at all of the big bike shows and you can demo and buy. or phone for a brochure etc. Or there are often members selling s/h on here. look in for sale or wanted. Hope this helps
John:)
