Just got back from a week long tour of Europe, and wanted to ask if anyone else has a similar setup.
BIKE 1 BMW R1200RT 2014 +COMMS PACK+SAT NAV PREP + NAVIGATOR V + SYSTEM 6 HELMET WITH BMW COMMUNICATOR + IPHONE 6 + IPhone link with traffic
Pairing: Helmet to Navigator V, Helmet to Bike, Helmet to Bike 2
BIKE 2 BMW R1200RT 2008+ NAVIGATOR V + GARMIN CRADLE + SYSTEM 6 HELMET WITH BMW COMMUNICATOR + IPHONE 5.
Pairing: Helmet to Navigator V, Helmet to Bike 1
Navigator Vs both have latest software and maps, both bikes set to same destination, both set with same preferences and avoidances (menu by the same). No pillions
On the whole, very good to be able to chat to each other for the whole journey (250-300 miles per day) and very pleased with comms quality/ battery life.
If anyone has any suggestions as to the items listed above, Id be grateful, I didn't post in the Comms section as both comms systems work fine when the Navigator is off so suspect this is a Navigator related thing.

- For some reason, we were being told different routes on some days (same destination) - This might be traffic subscription related as I had traffic subscription and rider 2 didn't.
- On the six days, we could not get the items to behave the same, some days all would be OK for most of the ride, then a voice prompt would over-ride the comms and comms would drop off for a random period of time, then come back. Most often, we would be chatting, then a route announcement would be heard, and the comms would drop off, to come back on again randomly later.
- When nearing the destination the comms would drop off for no reason, and the come back at random or only after a helmet restart
- On two occasions at the destination (once whilst trying to Navigate Maastricht's new one way system, and the other arriving at Eurotunnel - both riders hear a 'USB' style connect/disconnect over and over again until navigator was set to stop route
- Mostly when in traffic, both riders would hear 'USB' style connect/disconnect which we thought might be other Bluetooth devices in nearby cars being visible (but this also happened in the middle of deserted forest roads).
- At least ten times in a day a large banner would be presented to one or both riders, saying Bluetooth headset has been disconnected/reconnected (with an annoying OK button that needed to be pressed to see the screen again)
- Bike 2 (the newest Navigator V) had a few power outages in the cradle and had to be removed from bike and then power button cycled/held in for 10 seconds.
- Bike 1 (me) tried to listen to music via Ipod, with genuine BMW cable, via the bike, but the volume was very low compared to the bike, and when a system or comms call came in it was deafening
- When comms not broadcasting and at random times, the comms link would be brought up, with no user intervention.
