Hi,

I have a CarPlay device (CPMC similar to Aoocci etc) on my 1300GSA and I have noticed that it won’t play audio via my Sena SC2 without connection with the CPMC in which ever App I may be using at that time (Tomtom / Mixcloud / Spotify etc). This means every time I switch the bike off (fuel stop etc) I have to get my iPhone 13 out and re-connect to CPMC in the App……Once I connect via one App it then works for all Apps. What adds to my confusion is that I can still open the App of choice on the CPMC, I just can’t hear the audio with out following these steps. The device tells me to use the vehicles volume controls??? - which is a PITA.

I am wondering if the BMW App/Bike is overriding the CPMC and Sena…..and I need to ‘forget’ BMW Motorrad App on my phone? That would be disappointing as I like the data…..or whether there is work around, has any one else experienced this?

I have the same device. I connect it to my phone as a CarPlay device and then my Sena is connected to my phone for audio. All the CPMC does is the visuals; the headset remains connected to the phone. Seems to work for me.

CPMC, AOOCCI, a n other from somewhere else, are all the same unit and the destructions say wot Cadmium said but I've not tried mine in anger yet

Thanks for replying, I plan to have a play this weekend but I thought that was what I had done……perhaps not.

Not sure if you figured your issue out or not but, I came up with this quick video as a guide for these kind of issues, hope it helps:

I watched it, thank you……if I switch the Sena on after the B6 (which has connected to the iPhone first) then it all works and I can stay connected to the bike also. I need to trial it a few more times, your video has explained why is happening and if my way doesn’t work then I will use your work around! 👍🏻

You're very welcome, fingers crossed!!

It's nothing but trial and error sometimes :)

Cheers

Hi, I tested the setup I mentioned and it worked for a while then stopped but ‘rebooted’ a connection after I switched the Sena off and on again. I did this twice during the day…..I disconnected the TFT after the first time and the connection seemed more stable. It looks like my only option is to use the B6 as the ‘hub’ on the GSA but I am unsure about this because I will have to tell my phone to ignore the Sena and that creates a problem - I use another bike most days, which doesn’t have the B6 on it, and I want my Sena to connect to my phone. I might have to live with the GSA issue, but at least I have a kind of fix.

Would the Sena have the capability to connect both phone and GPS at the same time? I know Cardo has that capability.... so forgetting about the TFT, using the B6 as hub and maybe having the Sena using both profiles where you can switch from one to the other would solve your issue switching between bikes.

Not sure, just a thought!

Edit: Quick google search tells me that yes, just like Cardo... the Sena has 2 profiles. So you should definitely try that, your phone as primary and GPS as secondary.
