Hi, Thinking of a trip to explore the north side of the Pyrenees at the end of May and rather than the long haul through England, squared off tyres by the time we get there and miles of motorway, was wondering if anyone has experience of hiring bike in Toulouse, Biarritz or Bordeaux?

Have done a Google search and it has come up with a few but none with an address or directions which would have given more confidence to part with the cash.:oonyack

Any ideas, conntacts or comment appreciated. Thanks

Thought about:

a) taking the boat across the Bay Of Biscay

b) taking the train from Northern France to Southern France

Misses out the miles of motorway on the other side of the Channel :)

Thanks for replies and good contacts on that site Mike and at first pass a Harley 1200 for 590 euro per week which is ok.
Boat to Santander could be an option too. Thanks John.
A last minute decision.:thumb

Boat to Santander / Bilbao can be a nice start / end to a holiday. Has been for me, but then the Bay of Biscay was nice and flat :)

may i cheekily ask your source for that price?
i may be doing the same thing this year for the main tour and in my (very brief) search found nothing that cheap.

Santander boat - i like. :) though not all do. i find i start relaxing the instant i get on it - so holiday mood for me and Linda gets going as soon as we leave the dock. :thumb2

Have you considered going down on the train with your bike to Brive and riding from there ?

By Rail: Calais - Brive - French Motorail runs from Calais to Brive which is only 20 mile from Riders Rest. It normally starts running mid May. 2 bikes travel for the same as 1 car. www.railsavers.com

Thanks, that's worth looking at but starting near Glasgow, the main problem is the 452 miles on motorway through England which would need an overnight somewhere and it adds up to four days of the holiday taken up.
Good problems to have. :thumb2
