Got to the dealers today and the bike is not ready:blast

Had planned a weekend of ACF50 then 600 miles riding.

Aux headlights need software update and BMW not sent it. Apparently its not just my dealer. NO way I ma riding off with parts not working

Bike works but no lights. In addition Touratech bars upper bars I got - don't fit with BMW Aux lights. Its a 2017 thing despite checking with Touratech. Gutted- £20 postage back to Nippy Norms

At this rate I will be asking for the updated 2017 bike:) but not crappy blue

Come on BMW I am gong mad not having the bike!

Ha ha, you nearly got me there, very good :D

This is a wind up isn't it? :)

Really? You're not taking a new bike home because the aux lights aren't working because they are awaiting a software update??

Andres

Thats disappointing when you've no doubt been looking forward to collecting your new bike. Their excuse on the headlight doesn't make any sense though as i cant see a reason for updated software to have the lights on / off. and why if that was the case they cant use the current software that works on every other GS on the road.

Not impressed with your dealer!

Thanks and agree - why not use old software? I wouldn't have noticed.

Fun of owning an LC I guess. When I drove my new CBF1000 home the left pannier fell off half way round the M25 and bike only had 50 miles from new on the clock

Always next week
Ride safe

Agreed. Somethig here doesnt ring true. You sure they havent dropped and damaged it and are just playing for time maybe......

Been inside the workshop and seen it. All is good part from lights. Guess its time for the butter in fridge as protection

When you say the 'headlights are not working', is that:

1. The headlight is not working at all, dead as a Dodo

2. Not working in easy harmony with the auxiliary spotlights, but otherwise working well enough for you to use the bike

3. Something else

You laugh, my friend's 1600GT was written off at the dealer's, just as he walked in to pick it up from its 600 mile service. He heard the fast revving of an engine, followed by an almighty bang. Not just his bike involved either.

Wapping, I used to work as a mechanic in the (car) trade at a main dealers. The accidents that happened and the excuses/lies made to cover up/buy time/effect repair would make your toes curl.....

Seems its not just car dealers, DMC / Ducati Manchester damaged my brand new multistrada, looked as tho it had fallen against something but they still tried to deliver it when I question the damage they said they will put it right at first service, nah that ain't happening, I told em to stick it back in the van and take it back, apparently I gave em a hard time and I'm now banned from DMC .
