My GS is a year and two weeks old, with 3500 miles. Used most days for short commute, and the occasional ride out.
Going to work this morning, opened the garage, butties in the top box, hit the tit and it goes click. Turned off & on again, same result. Lift to work from the Mrs, called BMW Assist, arranged that they would come when I got home. Colin turned up ten past six, checked the battery, 11.6V, mmm, puts it on the jump start, it starts, leaves it running for 15 minutes, turns it off, disconnects battery, sets battery test, which proclaims the battery to be good. Puts it back together, the Datatool man rings.
Colin reckons that if you leave it two weeks without a run, the battery will be too discharged to start it. The battery is 12Ah 200A, apparently.
Colin’s parting words were, “it should be ok, give us a call if it isn’t and we’ll see about a new battery”.
I give it a week or two at best. Hope it’s at home WHEN it fails because it surely will.
