You cannot argue with a 33l fuel tank and go anywhere ability or is that looks. Hope the WC ADV will have a 36l fuel tank

+1. Mind you, I managed to get 20.7l in to the LC the other day... and that's without the filler mod!

And it's supposed to be a readers poll that settled it.

What I do find hard to believe is that the Triumph Tiger 800 didn't even make the top 50 .....now that is a lovely bike to ride....very similar handling to the water-cooled 1200GS I reckon

I thought the same until I re read the article, these are the bikes that have been ridden by the editorial team over the last year; explains glaring omissions like the Tiger VFR etc I mean an electric bike at No 36 FFS!

But figures don't split GS WC from GSA and the most recent figures I saw it was pretty much a 52/48 split to the WC. So the figures don't actually prove ought and the fact the GSA with its deals are selling like hot cakes.,

I am sure that the figures have been helped by the old outgoing bikes - but the that fact that new LC is there and selling well is enabling BMW to stay at the top of the sales chart - where are the other manufacturers? - with all the hype about the Multistrada, Triumph and new KTM ( they have all had plenty of publicity recently) they simple are not selling like the GS.

What does all this tell a potential new bike purchaser - BMW is at the top of the game and it is the all-round 'adventure' bike to go for - simples.

That's more than a several shed loads of bikes the vast majority of which are probably extremely happy with their bikes - the problem with forums such as this is that they concentrate the very few that do have problems in one place and as a result greatly exaggerate the size of the problem to the few that read the posts.

Following a certain Mr Matt Hull around Snetterton whilst he was on a GS WC I can tell you that it is was an eye opener. It was leaving black lines out of the corners.

Fantastic, everything I ever wanted in an 'adventure bike'

The WC is a good bike that everybody can ride without it being intimidating and when pushing it feels safe and controllable, yet it can take you and the mistress in comfort to your favourite road in the Alps just like it does when you go to work on it in the rain.

The Alps you say, AND work in the rain? Wow

Just like the previous GS only much better.

'Better'? I'm not sure you've told me anything it does 'better' so far

Good call and yes most probably because of the attention the press gave the bike.

Finally the truth - you've bought one and so has the press.

Oh well, time to go out and ride an old Harley, nothing for me here then
