Dropped the GS into bike on board yesterday for delivery to Gothenburg at the weekend.... simple easy process I have to say.. and Conor who I dealt with could not be more helpful..

he said they were adding Iceland to the destinations as well...

:clap:clap

Nice one.

We looked at doing this with BOB, their drop off location didnt suit ( Germnay somewhere ).

We had tried Overlanders already ( who were great ) but they increased their price to 650.00 from 600.00 to Memmingen. Its right beside the airport but an increase is an increase :nenau

You could say we should ride over, but we're taking a couple of Ducati's and a gsxr. Theyd do the trip but its nice to be uber fresh when you arrive.

Germany defo has some of if not the best roads in Europe.

Dont forget pics Buttso...safe journey.

Cheers banzai..

Yeah I used to enjoy the entire journey of a bike
Trip... But I feckin hate boats.. Seasick extreme...
And with the nippers I don't get that much time away
So every day counts!!

Was 600 inc vat and insurance to send the bike over
Loaded to the hilt with everything.. And 22 euro for the
Flight... And as you said arrive fresh and ready to go

Roll on Monday :-)

Looked into Bike on Board but went with Phil Gunn of this parish for a numbers of reasons, price, convenience and recommendations from other people.

Phil collects the bikes from our house and delivers then back to our house, so no fecking about getting the bikes to and from the carrier, he will also meet us at our arrival Airport with the bikes and will take them home from our departure Airport.

Roll on Sunday:roll:roll:roll

Yeah we checked with phil but was busy with other jobs.. But he does a great service from what I hear..
The door to door aspect is class.., hauling the bike to Dublin was a pain.. But sure it has to be done...

Yep, saves all the messing :thumb

Got a text at 8:15am, the monday morning to state bikes ready for collection... wonderful stuff!!

this was the route.. more or less.. nothing set in stone.. if we saw anything interesting we would divert..

Absalon camping was rated as one of the best, so out we went..

and got booked in.. you need a camping card to use campsites over there, so paid for that... got some great info about getting in and out of there, the trains run all night... so off we went.... got good recommendations.. best stuff is in and around Tivoli... went to rosie mcgee's...

lovely food.. probably the most reasonable prices we saw.. the place over the road was looking for 65 euro for a steak.... eh .. no thank you
then down to a few pubs for a pint.. at 7.70 a pint.. didnt stay long..

so heading west.. there was one town I wanted to visit.. only because I wanted to have a laugh

Riding west again to the danish island of Romo... looked nice on the map.. there is a ferry at the bottom of the island which brings you to the german island of Sylt.. a really lovely place.. it is described as the german version of Monaco or the American "hamptons"

after a nice spin around we said we would leave... and slowly discovered there are no roads out to the island.... this picture sorta sums up our search.. taken at the very south of the island

headed south to mainland Germany.. crossed the Rhine on a small ferry to save a lot of roadwork at Gluckstadt... will save you about 70 miles

after a long day, we crossed into Holland via the major land bridge the Afsluitdijk ..headed to Amsterdam found a very nice campsite.. called Camping Zeeburg..
http://www.campingzeeburg.nl/
and managed to wedge the GSA's into the space between all the stoned teenagers.... but the campsite is lovely.. quiet... and has a great bar and restaurant..

great crack.. loved it... it is an amazing feeling, there is one in Manchester.. I will be popping over too..
if you skip to the 2 min mark of the video, you will see the instructor showing you how it can be done !!

After that.. we headed to the UK and rode from there to birmingham via the chunnel....
IMG_2573_zps4cb0bcd2.jpg

never been on.. fairly effortless crossing.. although the temp dropped from 34c to 14c..... froze the hole off me

that was the trip... got loads done in the short time I had... but well worth it...
