Had a nice day out at castle combe yesterday" Bike Safe".
was starting to get a bit paranoid surrounded by that amount of police . and surprisingly no speed traps in the surounding villages. or maybe I went past too fast to see them. Steve colley done a amazing display on his trials bike, riding around with no front forks or wheel. and jumping his other trials bike up onto the roof of his van & trailer. some people were having fun blasting around the race circuit, a old 1100/1150 GS was keeping up with 2 jap sport bikes, and the sun was shining.

Certainly was a great day, don't think I have ever seen so many plod in one place. I was surprised to see Avon and Somerset have and need what looked like an Northern Ireland spec Landrover:eek:

I've never seen so much HiViz all in one place at the same time and that's not including plod.

Glad you enjoyed it; we couldn't believe our luck with the weather, which obviously "made it" as an event.
We had 7,000 through the gates & over 400 assessed rides, & people seemed to enjoy it.
It was also nice to see so many family groups, because those youngsters are the future of motorcycling. If they take up riding in say, 20 years time, motorcycling will indeed have a future.
On a sobering note, whilst we were all at the event a motorcyclist lost his life back in Gloucestershire. I have no idea what exactly was involved, or any idea as to the cause, but it is a reminder that our chosen leisure pursuit can have consequences.

Martyn Hillier, BikeSafe Gloucestershire.
