He didn’t want to sell it you because it wouldn’t fit, he’s refused probably because he wants to protect his good name incase your welder makes a shite job or done wrong especially if you was going to try and have it welded on without taking the stand off, it would fry your electrics

Your stand is the same as a gs, just send your stand to mark within a couple of days you will receive it back powder coated and looking better then new, plus for forum bods he offers discount.

Perhaps I didn’t explain it properly -

1) The stands are not the same according to Bahnstormers, if they were I’d have bought the BMW plastic protector for the centre stand, but it doesn’t fit, I tried.
2) Because of this Cymark decline to do it as it’s not a GS/GSA stand, and I accept this.
3) I asked if I could buy the shaped piece of metal, again declined as is his right.
4) Not even with my level of incompetence would I expect the welding to be done on the bike!
5) Why would I slag him off? If he’d sold me the bit and it didn’t fit it’s my loss, but may have been worth a try… and you don’t know until you try.
And finally, I’m not having a go at him ffs!

No I mean the lug where it pivots so if he welded as per the gs it would work the same.

Made mine today. Copied the shape roughly by eye.

Chopped out a bit of 6mm steel.

Tacked it on to check.

Welded it up, slapped on a bit of gloss black.

Drilled it for a tight fit of my alarmed disc lock.

Made it so the gear lever is pushed up. Locking the bike in gear too.

Oh and I fitted both stand pins with circlips to the inside so they'd be harder to twat out.

I think it's a great idea although it's obvious it won't defeat all theft methods.

I do wonder how you'd get round the issue if you lost your key to the padlock.

It's not for me, solely because I fear my Achilles tendon doesn't have too many hoiks onto the centre stand left in it!
