Haven't ridden the 26,000 miles 2005 1200RT for 10 days - has immobiliser but no alarm. Started the bike and rode 1.5 miles before it cut out going on a slight uphill gradient.
Left bike alone for 5 minutes and it starts but immediately dies again. Engine management light comes on but extinguishes whan the engine cuts out again. Engine will fire a second time and die but will not start a third time. Oil level window is full, but has been this full before without problems. Has been serviced within last 600 miles/ 2 months.
Got a ride home from the wife and waiting to be recovered home.
Anyone like to guess the problem.
Could it be a coil pack?
I was going away tomorrow morning, destination Austria, and will miss my Channel crossing for sure now.
