I'm thinking about getting either a new Autocom or Intaride system mainly for listening to phone, MP3 and GPS.
I'm wondering if I need to consider what unit I put in if I were ever to want to include bike to bike communications. In other words do I have to buy an Autocom system to talk to someone from another autocom or could I, with an Autocom, also speak to someone with an Intaride (or other make) system? I'm presuming everyone involved has to have similar radios.
Cheers
Philippe

It doesn't matter if you have an Autocom or IntaRide system as it's the PMR radios which do the Bike to Bike bit and they all work on standard frequencies.

I've used both systems and they are both very good. IntaRide has obvious cost savings but this doesn't make it an inferior product IMHO. You should have a look at the cabling etc as it's silly things like the connectors you will notice every time you use the thing. Oh and it's worth having a look at IntaRide's wireless system - Liberty.

Shop around, get some demos and enjoy!

Not tried bike to bike yet, but have a starcom advance, works really well with me phone and ipod shuffle, happy bunny, £139 for rider only plus £10 each for phone and radio leads

I posted before riding from hull to bordon in a bit of wind, wanted to launch it through a hedge!!! darn thing kept cutting out with the turbulence, will be my fault tho, needs adjusting, once i was down south and out of the wind it was fine

I use the autocom rider system 3 with Bike to bike comms via a PMR radio, mate also uses the same system fantastic results and you wonder why you ever did with out for all those years. Any autocom will speak to an intraride system as long as the radios you are using are set to the same frequency. Pick the autocom up cheap last year at the BMW dealer i got the bike off, some end of year / syck deal and got the autocom rider 3 kit£ for £105-00 that was the unit the headsets and the connecting leads for rider to pillion. The Addittional lead to connect the radio was £15-00 and i picked up the radio of ebay from china (were they make them i hasten to add) for £50-00 5watt version you can't get here for some reason........hmmmmmmm.......and then end result is absolutely outstanding. Clear as a bell no problems what so ever.
Hope this helps
