I've other threads going in Equipmnet&Toys but this is 1200 specific.

Where are you positioning your radios?

In an attempt to reduce the number of connections required at start up, with next to no cubby hole space and the need to elevate and keep the antenna vertical I'm looking for inovative options for my Kenwood 3107 set up.

If possible I'd like to leave the radio on the bike (perhaps under the seat), powered through Autocom and have the antenna remoted. Has anyone here remoted their antenna?

Hi Eddy

I'm considering mounting the radio inside the top box with the remote antenna in the centre of the top box lid.

I'll use a sleeved grommet from the underside of the case to run the power and audio leads back to where my Starcom unit is located beneath the riders seat.

Taking the top box off becomes a slighly longer job because of the need to disconnect the associated cables, but mine pretty much lives on the bike full time anyway.

Cheers

Pete

Thanks guys.

I only use my top box when two up, in which case the person I need to radio is within intercom distance :D

Andy,
As your link shows I copied your Autcom installation, but my kenwood and antenna is too long to fit under the seat, and having the antenna horizontal, wrapped in bike and beneath me seemed to go against all propogation efficiency theory I ever undersood. How is the performance of your unit from there?
