New bike to me

Very nice Steve, and in super condition. Same motor as the one dropped into my Supersport. Superb engines...max fun on UK roads!

Lovely bike, a mate has one and loves it, He did the Donnington Ducati day on it last year

I tell a lie. I've just seen a pic of a Multi 1000 DS, it reminded me I had one several years ago. So the 950 is actually my second Ducati.

Riding for over 55years and maybe around 130-140 bikes owned I've just purchased my first Ducati.
I initially went to have a look at a very very clean 2010 1200 Multistrada. It was a very nice bike but at 70 years of age in December, me not the bike, it was just too much of a handful.
Getting back to the showroom I spied a couple of 950 Multistradas. I took out an absolutely mint 2018 model in red with an impeccable Ducati service history. I was looking for something with a bit of panache, something just to take out on high days and dry days and something that would have a bit more go than my V85. So I could go and have a bit of a play now and again. The Multistrada seemed to fit the bill perfectly, so a deal was done.
I'm not selling the V85 it's a fantastic bike, but the multistrada will hopefully just scratch a little itch that I occasionally have.
It's a lovely bit of kit.

I had a 2010 Multistrada when they first came out. It was totally bonkers and would wheelie in third gear up to 100mph if you opened the taps fully.

They would scare the shit out of me now I'm older!

Enjoy your new bike, it sounds great.

Picking it up in the morning, can't wait. It's a while since I've been this excited about a new bike.
£90 to add on to my insurance. I thought that was a bargain.

Enjoy - picked up my first ever Ducati in 45 years of riding back in April, a Desert X and absolutely loving it and went passed the 7,000 mile mark today :)

Looks like a good bike Steve, must confess Ducati has never really been on my radar, how does the weight compare with say the 1100GS you PX'd? I stopped to help a guy in Andorra a few weeks ago who had dropped his V4s on a road junction and was plainly struggling and I was surprised just how heavy it was, he was lucky, just a few scratches and the end broken off the clutch lever.

I just picked up my first ever ducati after 22yrs of bmw ownership, a 24 plate multistrada v4 pikes peak
pics please.....

thats one (of 2) bikes I keep filtering my daydreaming (timewasting at work) Auto trader search for......

I'm sure that you will love it. I got an 1100 Monster Evo 3 years ago and it brought back the biking mojo I had when I started riding over 40 years ago

Same as a GS , once over heavy to lift up but without the worry of a popped rocker casing as I've seen before . Adding to that there is a correct way to pick a bike up regardless of weight , its the method of reverse lift with locked bars , simple really. Practiced it a few times just in case on the drive .

About the same pushing it around. Feels a lot lighter when on the move.

I picked the bike up around 9.30 this morning. All the paperwork was already done so just had to drop off the BM and jump on the Multi. I did a little bit of a circuitous route on the way home covering around 90 miles.
It's a very very competent machine. The engine was lovely, once I'd gotten used to changing gear much more often than I would on the V85. Both the Multi and the V85 could be classed as Adventure bikes, in reality they could not be any more different.
The Multi feels like IMHO, a sports bike on stilts, fabulous engine after 4k rpm and handles beautifully. It was at times very difficult to keep a lid on it, but there were a few occasions were I had the opportunity to give it some beans and boy does it love beans. Everything looks to be very nicely made. The only thing I struggled with was the clutch. I have what's called an essential tremor and trying to control anything such as a delicate clutch, sort of tends to make my hands spasm a bit. The clutch did feel very on or off. but I'll work around it. Sadly the clutch lever has no adjustment for span, I find it easier if I can get the lever closer to the bar.
As for comparing it to the V85, there is no comparison they are completely different bikes. I think the Multi is going to make a great stablemate for the V85.
