Bike to compliment a GS 1200

Aprilia Tuono.... Total nutter bastard when in the mood but still comfy enough to cover some miles. Italian, plenty of character and a lovely v-twin engine:beerjug:

i would suggest a honda 90 when i leave my gs in the garage along side the mighty 90, always think the 90 says do know how many bikes i have seen come and go and he keeps me,you have sold in pityfull numbers and lets be honest you have dubious reliability compared to me. maybe mz 250 the bike from over the wall

he wanted a bike to compliment his 1200, not denigrate it :P

My 5 cents: Triumph Speed Triple

Unique look, loads of charisma that makes every ride feel a bit special, excellent handling & brakes, surprisingly comfortable seat and compliant suspension, as docile or mental as the mood takes you: satisfying for urban posing or A & B-road hooning, and the engine is a masterpiece.

A two-wheeled Supermarine (as opposed to Triumph) Spitfire. Possibly even more different from the GS than the aforementioned C90 :D

Modern, lean styling of classic naked streetfighter, so doesn't have the putterey, Autoglym-fetish, mid-life crisis image of the big retros.

Has always sold well, so plenty of low-mileage examples at reasonable prices.

My one was alien-blood green. I miss it with the same lump in my throat as I miss my Mk.I MX-5.

P.S. we need a rose-tinted vision smiley

GS set up supamotard and GSA set up for touring.
And my CBX1000 custom when its ready

On family holiday, great time but missing my bikes like hell. To complement the 1200GS twin cam got an 848evo, 77 commando and 06 ducati st3s. The gs is clearly the best all round bike but tbh it seems a bit captain sensible when it's a sunny sunday evening with quiet roads. obvious how the 848 evo and commando are different but the st3s gives me v twin delivery, smooth comfortable ride and a dialled in riding position that makes me choose it at times like this above the GS. absolutely no doubt that having a choice of bikes means you enjoy the contrasts and virtues of each one loads more when you ride 'em. get an st4s or st3s while there are still good ones around - Ducati are mad to have dropped this line..

above post got me thinking about the past, when i had a mz supa 5 every other owner i meet had a BMW for occasional usage, any BMW owners still have a MZ

Had a CZ250 after the MZ and they were junk in comparison

Still have my MZ Supa5 albeit stripped down and in boxes. Must get it put together :thumb

But for now I'm riding a bike that really compliments the GS, great fun to ride, economical and a stunning looker. A real giggle in the twisties :JB

:beerjug:

Now fitted with Wilbers suspension front and rear, Barkbuster handguards, full Remus exhaust, re-mapped fuelling at Hilltop Motorcycles :blagblah

I present one of motorcycling's best kept secrets ....

electraglide is the answer

Relaxed riding, fun on country lanes (really!) and SWMBO loves the armchair at the back

(And yes I know the grass needs trimming :-) )
