Bike will tick over for a few secs then

Thats an 1100 hallsensor .

Cheers mate I'll flog it on :thumb2

Think I'm gona get the bike shop to pick it up tmw,I'm all out of ideas plus I can't get it up the hill to the shed working in the rains no fun :(

Thanks for everyone help :tears

Here's a video of me trying to start the old dog :green gri

When bmw K series bikes do that it means the spark plugs are fecked. i don't think the same applies to R series. Pity you haven't a 1150 hall sensor to do a quick swop.

At what sort of strength is the fuel being fired out of the injectors.

Fitted new plugs already :thumb

Now your asking haven't ever seen an injector working before on a gs :o

Checked truck ones before on the bench, GS ones seems like a fine mist ;)

I can video it when the rain goes off :thumb

Update

Bikes up in the shed now and i've got a hall sensor coming from sherlocks :thumb2

Forry mine did the same thing when I had it a couple year back, I traced it back to the HT Leads which had internally broken down.

Take the black covers of the cylinder heads and turn it over while looking directly down the spark-plug hole with the HT's in. If you see any sparking you know...

It won't do it when you test the plug as the voltage grounds against the engine case when the HT is in.

My left one was gone as well but didn't spark where I could see it - I stuck my ear close to it and could hear the electrical snapping.

Was the bike running ok in the warmer weather? It could the the temperature sensor in the air box? Also check for any resistance in your plug leads, as the heat builds up it could cause problems.

H T leads

havce a look at it in the dark possibly see sparks it it is bearing dow, don't poke it about with the engine runnig with you fingers get the misses on the job.

It's alive :D

It was the hall sensor after all, just need to fit new set of throttle and choke cables now and thats me back on the road :thumb2

Thanks everyone for your help :clap
